Move over Spot! There is a new two-way satellite messenger / tracker on the market that works all of the time, not just some of the time!
We were introduced to the Bivy Satellite Messenger / Tracking Device today.
Wow! I must say, it’s impressive. It’s small, lightweight, easy to use and it operates off of the Iridium Satellite Network.
You might know that Spot works on the Globalstar Network which has had some serious issues. Do you want to wait 20 minutes to even notify someone that you need help? What happens if you fall off a cliff and are not conscience enough to send a message? All of that was an issue, until now!
Any part-time of full-time outdoorsman or rural or remote worker can benefit from the Bivy.

Size Matters
We rent out satellite phones also, but it would cost you $300 plus to get one to use for a week and they are more expensive, bigger, and heavier while the Bivy Satellite Messengers are just $200 to purchase and they are small and lightweight at just around 5″ long, 2″ wide, and less than an inch thick, and have plans that start at just $14.99 per month!

No Contract Plans
Now when you first purchase the Bivy, they want you to sign up for 4-months of service, but after that, you can use it month-to-month without a contract, as you need it.
Smartphone Messenging, Mapping and more via Bluetooth
While not even necessary, BIVY works via Bluetooth to your Smartphone so you can send and receive messages as needed quickly and easily from almost anywhere! Bivy Mapping Software allows you to see where you are and get where you need to go.
So at least you can share information about your specific situation if necessary. Spot doesn’t allow you to do any of that.
