This high-frequency dual ground block has a gold plated center which assures a great connection, and also a rubber weather seal for outdoor use or use in moist areas. The internal components are designed for high frequency and low loss. Rated for 0MHz to 3GHz. UL Listed. Resilient internal metals for dependable repeated insertion connections. The internal components of these ground blocks are much different from the standard frequency VHF/UHF ground block. The center coax conductor indexes into a close-tolerance tube that is resilient (spring) brass and is gold plated. The close center-tube tolerance assures a tight connection the gold plating assures a good electrical connection and the overall performance is greatly improved over standard designs.
Our Take: HughesNet use to use these ground blocks as they required a cable for Receive and a cable for Transmit. Now HughesNet Gen5 only requires one cable, so you can get a ground block for one cable here. But sometimes we find it easier to put the Ground Blocks in the same location as the TV systems, so often we will use these dual ground blocks to ground both satellite TV and Satellite Internet to the same place. Some will suggest that is a bad idea, but we used to do it all of the time and haven’t seen any equipment damage yet. Grounding your Satellite Internet system will help to remove static and keep it running smooth also.
